Published 25 June, 2008, 09:26

Generating company OGK-2 has abandoned plans to hold a tender for greenhouse gas quotas it gained in the framework of building two new Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plants.

The quotas were put out to tender at the end of May this year.

Gazprom, the company's major shareholder, decided to postpone the tender to define the necessary equipment’s parameters more accurately, according to a source close to the company.

Russian power companies have been among the pioneers using Kyoto Protocol mechanisms to raise investment.
