Polling stations go to doorsteps

Published 25 November, 2007, 14:32

Voting in parliamentary elections has begun in some of Russia's remotest regions. Residents of hard-to-reach villages of the north and east, as well as people living abroad, can cast their ballots until 30 November. However, the results will only be announced after the offical election next Sunday.

RT’s correspondent Ryan Dollard is following the election process in the northern Arkhangelsk region, where more than 50 polling stations have opened.

In some villages ballot boxes will be brought to people’s homes.
