The U.S. government has ruled that products from cloned animals are as safe as their natural counterparts.
After six years of study, production of food from cloned pigs, cattle and goats has been given the go ahead.
A lack of data means a decision about cloned sheep has not yet been reached.
The ruling has been criticised by some activists and politicians, who remain unconvinced enough research been carried out.
