Former Chelsea and Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has turned down an offer to take charge of another high-profile European club.
The Brazilian has snubbed the Juventus hot seat for the sake of his current job in Uzbekistan.
The 61-year-old is currently managing FC Bunyodkor from Uzbek capital Tashkent.
He says he has become very attached to the city, and is delighted with his current job coaching the double Uzbek champions.
The World-cup-winning coach has pledged to stay put, at least until his contract ends late next year.
“Yes, I got a proposal from Juventus, but I rejected it because I’m completely satisfied with conditions in Bunyodkor. I have everything I need to work both effectively and comfortably, so I will stay in Uzbekistan until my contract with Bunyodkor expires, no matter if any proposal which I may have in the future is interesting,” Scolari told the club’s official website.
Indeed, the specialist has every reason to be true to his word. Scolari is said to be the world's highest-earning coach, taking home a reported €13 million a year.
