Anya Fedorova presents Prime Time Russia show at RT, a daily evening show focusing on events linked with Russia be it current affairs or cultural happenings.
Before joining Prime Time Russia Anya was a news presenter with the channel. She was in the studio during the Japan G8 summit in July 2008 and during the events in South Ossetia in August 2008.
Anya presented live coverage of Patriarch Aleksy II’s funeral service as well as the gas dispute between Russia, Ukraine and the EU in January 2009. She says that as much as she enjoyed breaking up-to-the-minute news stories to her viewers, she is much happier hosting a show where she is free to have and voice her opinion.
“Putting Neil and myself on air for an hour was a great step for RT in its quest to achieve as many awkward TV moments as possible. We are so different we rarely agree on anything. It helps the program a lot,” Anya laughs.
Anya has been with RT since its launch in 2005. She grew up in Australia and studied in Russia, graduating from the International University of Moscow where she majored in Linguistics and International Communications.
