­Brandon hosts RT's Technology Update program.

He may not have specialized training in a technology-related field per se, but his nerd credentials and passion for science and innovation make him a natural fit for the show.

Prior to joining Tehnology Update in September 2011, Brandon had stints as a financial editor, broadcast journalist (at RT) and radio presenter, most recently hosting a radio program on Russian business and economic news.

He received a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara in International Relations and Russian as well as a post graduate degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

While he spends his working hours reporting on new develoments in Russian technology, his true obsession in life is oil and gas, especially the pipelines that get them to market. He's spent much of the past 4 years researching the interplay between the politics and economics of hydrocarbons in Russia and the former Soviet Union.

But aside from sitting around dreaming of compressor stations and LNG terminals, he uses his free time to play tennis, study Turkish and frequent Moscow's newly opened Wendy's restaurants.
