Peter Oliver is a new correspondent with RT.

He was one of RT’s Sports presenters and correspondents before joining the news team.

Born in Sunderland in North Eastern England, Peter's first job in journalism was writing for a football fanzine while still at school.

He got into broadcasting a few years later, working on student radio while studying film at university in Atlanta, Georgia.

On his return to the UK, Peter attended Falmouth College of Arts where he got a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast journalism.

After a brief stint in local TV and radio in Britain he joined RT in the summer of 2005.

As well as devoting his spare time to supporting Sunderland Football Club, Peter enjoys playing the guitar, painting and playing sports.
