Rory Suchet joined RT as a news anchor and correspondent in mid-2009.

Originally from England, Rory attended the University of West Florida in the United States, where he received BS in Kinesiology and minored in broadcast journalism.

While studying, Rory was picked up by local heritage FM radio station, TK 101 The Rock Station. Rory was on the air for numerous hurricanes in the late 1990s, pulling long hours advising the public on emergency measures and evacuation plans. During some of the most severe hurricanes, TK101 was the only station which didn’t lose its tower during the high winds and, as a result, it became the “go-to” station for millions of storm-stricken residents.

In 2000, Rory was approached by another Rock FM Radio Station, where he took the job to host “Mornings with that British Guy”. While presenting the morning show on September 11, 2001, Rory quickly found himself deluged in the story of the biggest terrorist attack in US history. As all other morning shows in Florida’s capital city Tallahassee were syndicated and being piped in from other parts of the country, Rory was the only live and local radio presenter on the air at the time of the attacks.

Shortly after, Rory took the job of Anchor/Editor with CNN Radio Network. During his tenure at CNN Radio he was live on the air for the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia, 2005’s Hurricane Katrina, the 2005 Indonesian Tsunami and the capture of Saddam Hussein during the US-led invasion of Iraq.

In 2007, Rory quit radio to join the CNN International Desk and spent the next two years performing every task that takes place behind the camera.

Rory is the proud recipient of:- Peabody Award for Excellence in Journalism for Hurricane Katrina, 2005- Dupont Columbia University Award for Excellence in Broadcasting, Asia Tsunami, 2005- IRE Award for Excellence in Investigative Journalism in Iraq 2004- ClearChannel’s Unprecedented Ratings Award, 2000
