Previous Next Sara Firth
Sara Firth is an RT news correspondent.
She joined RT in November 2009 after having visited Russia for the first time in January that same year. She was instantly fascinated by the country and couldn't wait to get back.
Since joining RT she's loved seeing more of the “real Russia” and being able to share those experiences with RT viewers. From visiting remote villages and seeing ancient mummy remains in Irkutsk, to visiting Lake Baikal to setting sail with Russian fisherman in Murmansk, she is always amazed by the experiences and the people she gets to meet along the way.
Prior to joining the channel, Sara worked for a local London newspaper, wrote articles for a number of magazines as well as a blog for The Mirror newspaper, and completed a number of short documentaries including investigations into mental health provision in the UK prison system, and an exposé on the workings of renowned “ethical” travel companies.
Investigative journalism has always been her passion. She says “there's nothing better than being able to provide people with new information first.”
Whether it's reporting from Moscow's river banks in chilly -26ºC, or seeing in the New Year reporting live from the Russian city of Ufa working with RT has fulfilled her dream of reporting on international news whilst enjoying adventures along the way.
Sara holds a BA honours in Law and a PG Diploma in Investigative Journalism from City University London.
