Sean Thomas joined RT as a news correspondent in mid-2009.
Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Sean moved to the United Stateswhere he attended the Interlochen Arts Academy and Millikin University where he studied both voice and theatre.
Sean's broadcasting career began in the mid 1990's working in radio for 1490 WKBV and 101.3 WFMG. Eventually Sean found his way back to the Interlochen Arts Academy as part of the residential faculty and founder of the WIRD student radio station. As part of the WIRD program series Sean worked with some of the broadcast industry's most respected names to work with his students--including, Bill Hemmer of Fox News, Mike Wallace and Charles Osgood of CBS and Frank Stasio of NPR.
In 2003 Sean made his transition from radio to television news working for WPBN in Traverse City, Michigan eventually making the move to become a one man band style reporter for WFTX in Ft. Myers, Florida. While working in Southwest Florida Sean covered 8 hurricanes, including Katrina while traveling throughout the Gulf Coast. As part of the WFTX team Sean was also sent back to Banda Aceh,Indonesia to cover the aftermath of the 2005 Indian Ocean Tsunami.
Sean comes to the RT team after his most recent post with the NBC affilate, KSEE in Fresno, California where he worked as a general assignment reporter and freelance writer for Fresno Magazine.
Sean is also a published author and illustrator, writing children's books in his spare time.
