Russian cuisine: Crabsticks Salad

Overview

This salad is one of the latest inventions of Russian housewives, but its popularity easily beats that of any traditional dish.

Ingredients

1 cup of pre-boiled rice (long, white, polished rice is your choice here)
A pack of crabsticks or a can of crab meat
Salt, pepper, mayonnaise
0.25-0.4 pound of cheese
3 boiled eggs
1 onion

Cooking

Just cut whatever can be cut into fine bits, grate the cheese, add salt and pepper, pour in a can of mayonnaise and wham! – the salad is ready. You can also add some sweet corn.

TIP:

Some people add finely chopped fresh cabbage and a lot of herbs instead of rice. A fresh cucumber is also a welcome addition.
