Kirill Eskov is a contemporary Russian writer, biologist and paleontologist.
His most notorious work of fiction is The Last Ringbearer, an alternative telling of The Lord of the Rings by J.R. R. Tolkien. Although popular in Russia, the book was not widely published in the West, limited by the curators of the Tolkien estate.
