Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building, one of the seven Stalinist skyscrapers (aka Seven Sisters or Stalin Heights), was begun in September, 1947 and completed in 1952. This striking structure was designed by Dmitry Chechulin (then Chief Architect of Moscow) and Andrey Rostkovsky. The main tower has 32 levels (including mechanical floors) and rises 176-meters above the Moscow skyline.
The building also incorporates a 9-story apartment block, designed by the same architects, that faces the Moskva River. This section was begun in 1938 and completed in 1940.
