One of the world's most respected art magazines, The Art Newspaper, is coming to the Russian market. The first issue is due to hit newsstands in April.
The Art Newspaper Russia will publish ten issues annually, and expects to sell 25,000 copies of each.
“The newspaper will be distributed in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Ekaterinburg, and probably Kiev. It’ll also offer subscription,” the new magazine’s editor-in-chief Milena Orlova told the Ria Novosti new agency.
The magazine’s crew also plans to post “the hottest news,” announce new issues in social networks and create special apps for smartphones.
The Art Newspaper was thought of as an analogue to major social-political media, like Britain's The Guardian and America's The New York Times, but focused on art-related issues.
With its three sister editions – Il Giornale dell'Arte in Italy, Le Journal des Arts in France and Ta Nea Ti s Technis in Greece – The Art Newspaper is distributed in 60 countries around the world.
