Washington DC has been chosen as the location of a Bible museum, organizers behind the project have announced. The new attraction is to open in four years time and will become one of the biggest Bible museums ever.
According to The Blaze, the museum will display an extensive collection of Bibles belonging to the billionaire Green family of Oklahoma.
The project is being supervised by Cary Summers, chief operating officer of the Museum of the Bible. The non-profit group operating the collection said they considered Washington, Dallas and New York as possible locations for the new museum, but eventually picked the US capital.
What will be the name of the museum and where exactly in the city it will be has not yet been reported. Summers noted that the entrance to the new museum will not be free.
Fragments of the 40,000 piece Green family collection have already been displayed at the Vatican, in Oklahoma City and Atlanta.
