Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich can’t help buying art. This time around he has acquired artworks especially for his multi-million luxury yacht, “Eclipse”.

According to Bloomberg, the purchases came through Terence Disdale, who designs the interiors of Abramovich’s yachts according to the director of Millenium gallery Joseph Clarke.

Among the pieces purchased by the Chelsea club owner, industry insiders say there could be sculptures by unconventional British artist Simon Allen – priced from $8,000 to $30,000 – and acclaimed master of minimalism, Trevor Bell.

Abramovich’s Eclipse – expected to be delivered later this year – is said to be the world’s largest private yacht. Built in accordance with state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge design, the vessel is also likely to boast an admirable collection of art.

Back in 2008, the Russian billionaire made history when he bought Francis Bacon's 1976 “Triptych” for no less than $86.3 million at Sotheby's New York auction, as well as Lucian Freud's “Benefits Supervisor Sleeping” for $33.6 million at Christie's.

Why does he not sit in prison? Obviously he has stolen Russian Property- nobody can earns Billions of its own work in that short time. And corrupt media make propaganda for him as its done in the west.

Nice to see Abramovich using his wealth in a socially responsible way. Just read about a Swedish billionaire (far lower on the Forbes rating than our Abramovich) who is donating 17 million dollars to support a charity for orphans on Haiti. He will provide financially for the care, education and welfare of 400 orphans for 25 years. He promises this is just the first of many similar donations. As someone who himself grew up in an orphanage - and the father of 5 or 6 kids - Roman's lack of empathy is particularly striking. Its not as if there are not enough orphanages or orphans to choose from in Russia.
