Andrey Bartenev
“Building 3” could become the new Mecca for fans of contemporary art in Moscow. The “Building 3” gallery promises to show modern art from a different, practical perspective.
Its first exhibition on display is by one of Russia’s most flamboyant artists, Andrey Bartenev, entitled “Decoupage”.
A sculptor, installation artist, performer, designer, painter… It’s easier to mention what Bartenev hasn’t tried his hand at yet than to say for sure who he truly is.
The extravagant artist often appears in public wearing his trademark platforms and gigantic hats and has a long record of making people raise eyebrows in surprise or indignation.
Some say Bartenev is Russia’s answer to Andy Warhol, others call him a wacko.
The unconventional personality will present a series of his latest creations that are said to be both practical and creative at the “Building 3” gallery.
