Academy award-nominated British director Stephen Frears will share his cinematic experience with prominent Russian filmmakers at the AngloMoskvа festival in Moscow currently running from May 1-3.

The director of the Oscar-winning biographical drama ‘The Queen’ starring Helen Mirren will discuss the pros and cons of contemporary book-to-screen adaptations at the Eisenstein Library.

Joining one of Britain’s finest filmmakers will be Martha Fiennes – director of the 1999 film ‘Onegin’ and the sister of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes – as well as prominent Russian director/scriptwriter Andrey Konchalovsky, famous for thrillers ‘Runaway Train’ and ‘Tango & Cash’.

The AngloMoskvа festival is aimed at promoting cultural liaisons between Russia and Great Britain and features performances, art exhibitions, film screenings, discussions, fashion events, and Q&A sessions.

One of the highlights on the festival’s program is a performance by British composer Michael Nyman, and a screening of Pavel Bardin’s much-talked about drama about fascism ‘Russia-88’.
