The autumn of 2009 will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, which is now being renovated after years of decay, pollution and vandalism.

To mark the upcoming 20th anniversary of the historical event that has become the modern symbol of the victory of democracy, the Moscow House of Photography is opening the exhibition “Falling of the Berlin Wall.”
The fall of the Berlin Wall was the beginning of the end for the German Democratic Republic, as it showed that its government couldn’t run the country without the Wall, believes a former West German Foreign Minister.
