This week, Moscow will host the fourth international festival, CityJazz. The highlight of the festival will feature world famous jazz bass guitarist and composer Markus Miller’s concert on October 24.

Together with Miller, Moscow’s public will see New Orleans trumpeter Christian Scott, who is young but already quite well known in jazz circles, saxophonist Alex Han, keyboard player Federico Gonzalez and drummer Roland Bruner at the Moscow House of Music.

Miller, who’s always been experimenting with styles and sounds and has received numerous Grammy awards, comes to Russia for the third time. In 2007 he visited Moscow as a part of the largest ever open-air jazz festival "Usadba.Jazz". The next year the musician also enjoyed sell-out audiences, having performed in Russia within the limits of “The Thunder!” Then, he toured with two other virtuosos of the bass guitar, Stanley Clark and Victor Wooten.

In 2009 Markus Miller comes to Moscow as part of the tour, “Tutu Revisited  – The Music of Miles Davis”, devoted to the legendary trumpeter. The concert program was based on the Miles Davis album of the same name – "Tutu", co-produced by Markus Miller.

CityJazz festival will last for eight days, from October 22 till October 30, on eight stages in the Russian capital. Apart from Miller, the festival will also feature Mark Yusim, David Fiuginski, Nikolay Moiseenko, Symfusion Orchestra, Funky Groove Day, Guru Groove Foundation, and others. Don’t miss.
