Bad Santas are nothing new, but what about those who subvert our most cherished beliefs about the jolly red-clad benefactor? An army of naughty Santas – male and female – have hit the streets of Budapest in their smalls, to help children in need.

­As the Hungarian capital looked on bemused, hundreds of cheerful Santas got together clad in little more than their birthday suits to take part in the annual children’s charity run. 

"The original idea came from Boston, where I was a university student. I participated in a similar run there, and I have brought the idea back to Europe. This is the eighth annual run and we support a different foundation every year," Krisztian Mehes, chief organizer of Budapest's 8th Annual Santa Street Run, told AP.

Throughout the four-kilometer run, the Santas proved to be born exhibitionists despite chilly weather in the Hungarian capital.

"We were not cold at all! This was a real experience!" one of the participants was quoted as saying.

This time around, the money raised from the naked Santa marathon will reportedly go to the Magic Lamp Foundation, dedicated to children with life-threatening illnesses.
