“Short” doesn’t mean less exciting, especially when talking about films. The “Future Shorts” festival is in full swing in Moscow, screening cutting-edge short and animated productions from around the world.

The “Face to Face” program in Russia features films of different genres. The shortest piece is only one minute, the longest 19 minutes.

One of the highlights of the festival is the short animated film, “This Way Up”, from trailblazing British directors Alan Smith and Adam Foulkes, nominated for the 2009 Academy Awards.

Among some other must-see pieces are the 3 and-a half minute animated film, “Pencil Face”, from American avant-garde artist Christian Simmons, along with the winner of numerous awards, Belgium masterpiece “A Day in a Life”.

The films will be screened at the “35 mm” cinema house in Moscow until August 30.
