The State Hermitage museum has launched a test version of a Hermitage TV channel online. The channel can now be watched on the museum’s official website for approximately six hours daily.

The director of the museum, Mikhail Piotrovsky, says it’s still too early to speak about the museum’s TV channel in detail. “We will see whether it is eagerly sought after and qualitative,” Piotrovsky is quoted by ITAR TASS news agency as saying.

The State Hermitage actively uses the latest technology in its daily work. Interactive booths help to guide visitors in the galleries, and give brief information on the expositions and exhibits in the museum halls. Advanced equipment is in the “Youth Educational Center” which helps the Hermitage to conduct educational activities.
