Pixar animation artist Everett Downing, has set himself the ambitious task of creating 365 brand-new superheroes in one year. The project has already spanned three years and is still in progress.

Downing is the creator of such trademark Pixar animated characters as those in films WALL-E, Ratatouille and Up, Wired reports.

The artist initially hoped to complete his project in just one year. But even with his talent, the task proved too much.

To date he has created a total of 288 superheroes, giving them superpowers, some of which were outlined in their names. They include for example Capitain Zero, Think Tank, Anti-Gravitron, Drama Queen and Fright Knight.

Downing’s superheroes include both good and evil characters. Some are reminiscent of children’s comic books, while others look more like they belong to an adult animation movie.

Through his blog the artist has promised that 2013 will be the year the project is completed with only 77 characters left to be made.

I have all of the Pixar "Art of" books, and no-where is the name "Everett Downing mentioned as one of the "creator" of ANY Pixar Character.  That's either a lie or some VERY lazy [alleged] reporting on RT and Wired's parts.  Lazy.
