Moscow's Culture Department, lead by the new role model for city officials Sergey Kapkov, has launched an experiment for theater-going foreigners: Performances in the capital’s theaters will now feature subtitles in English and German.
The idea is not new, but enacting it has taken a while. City officials are about to give thousands of foreigners permanently residing in Moscow and visiting the city a chance to fully experience its first-class drama school.
The long-awaited experiment will be introduced in theaters supervised by the Moscow Culture Department. Among the first to offer the new option will be Pyotr Fomenko Studio.
The subtitles will be in English and German languages.
According to Kapkov, performances with subtitles will run at least once a month.
