EU doubts Polish meat quality

In 2005 Russia put an embargo on Polish meat import due to claimed violations of sanitary and veterinary norms. Poland then threatened to block Russia's accession to the WTO and even vetoed the talks on extension of the EU-Russia agreement on partnership and co-operation.
So far the EU has backed Poland in its dispute. However, Rzeczpospolita says the inspection results may give support to Russia's position.
