Small and mid-size businesses in Russia generate about 15% of national income - compared with 80% in the U.S. But some foreign entrepreneurs have started businesses in Russia and achieved success - despite the crisis.
Glad I've fialnly found something I agree with!

There certainly are a massive amount of opportunities, too many to count, if you have some capital and a half reasonable idea or copy, then you are into serious money. This is one reason I returned to Russia, it really isn't difficult, you just need appreciate that the environment is a 'little' different, but in time it will change to make it easier, but by then the early movers will have a lot sown up, and thanks for that! I have business contacts with many US expats and am impressed with what they are doing, they are helping drive things forward. After many years on the west coast myself, I can say I at least completed the training course and am putting it to good profitable use in a very free market, which is luckily my own water. The gains are really impressive, orders of magnitudes greater than anything I achieved in the US, and I did very well there, but nice to bring the capital back.
