Gazprom and E.ON complete asset swap

Gazprom and E.ON have finalized an asset swap which will see the German energy giant with a stake in the Yuzhno-Russkoye gas field after four years of talks.

The South Stream gas pipeline project, to supply gas to Europe bypassing Ukraine, is a step closer to reality.
Environmental impact checks are being carried out on the Nord Stream pipeline that’s to be laid along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The pipe will be an alternative route to take Russian gas to European consumers.
Bulgaria is about to suspend such major energy deals with Russia as the South Stream gas pipeline project and Belene Nuclear Power Plant construction, the Russian daily newspaper Vedomosti reports.
