45 x $3 million means an investment of $135 million and several hundreds of jobs created. Just for that it is good for Russia. But, as the report says, Russians go more than Western Europeans to fast food restaurants. Government adds should try to teach the people about the dangers of fat, the same way as the dangers of tobacco and alcohol. From time to time a cigar, or a vodka, or a burger is not a problem. The problem comes if they are consumed every day. Even eating a burger once a week can become a problem as drinking too much once a week. For tourists and foreigners living in Moscow or St. Petersburg, those fast food chains also make a service.

This is bad bad bad... Get out of the country. Their first presence was given illegally by offering them 1 ruble per square meter rent in the center of Moscow. If you are a tourist coming to Russia and load up on the MacDonald's you are missing the whole point of traveling to another country. There burgers are dangerous even consumed once. They have been found to add addictive chemicals into their food for repeat business. Their frozen meats are treated with sterilizing agents like chlorine and ammonia. The foods are almost certainly filled with Genetically Modified Organisms. Out of people I know, only 2 out of 10 want them here at all. These jobs created equal 10x the amount of other domestic food stalls being closed. They can't compete with a mega empire that is consuming the planet. Then most profits go to MacDonald's in America, encouraging further growth of unsafe products.

Artyom, you and your friends doesn´t have any obligation to go to any burger chain....but I am sure 4 of those 8 that told you that didn´t like burgers will eat them during the next months, hehe. I agree that tourists should taste traditional Russian food when in Russia, but for different reasons many want to eat a burger anywhere they go...In Spain the same fast food chain is going to invest 45 million euros during the next months.

Recently I made a gentle psychological study of US Mc Donald way to influence the propagation of the American Way of Life, all over the World. With Marlboro and Coca-Cola they did a better job than hundreds US military divisions will have done. How good it is for mankind; it is not up to me to answer. Personally, I don't mind going to a McDo; in Orenburg because the two, already there are very clean, kind and the food is good (Beside I have friends working there). The argument of my previous comment was not related to the service given by that US company but concerned the psychological aspect and the sincerity toward the Russian people of such an invasion. (Money cannot be men's unequalled value)...Sincerely. Jean-Claude Meslin

Artyom is RIGHT. Avoid McDonald's like a plague. In America their products are made from genetically modified and IRBG infused beef. RUSSIA STAY AWAY FROM THIS POISON!! Don't let Russian kids eat this. Or we will see Russia become as fat and obese as America and other countries where such junk food is consumed. Cook your own natural, healthy food. Don't let this mega billion foreign entity which cares NOTHING for the health of their people or any people in the world, poison your citizens. Putin and Medvedev should NOT allow this garbage to take hold in Russia!!!
