Nissan unveils new St Petersburg plant

Japanese carmaker Nissan has opened its first production plant near Russia's St. Petersburg.

Russian electronics and IT holding, Sitronics, has posted a 1Q 2009 Net loss of $40.3 million under U.S. GAAP.
Russia will create one of the world's largest telecoms firms by bringing together the largest national operator with regional providers. But experts warn the deal will leave minority shareholders out in the cold.

Mounting losses at Avtovaz, have stakeholders muttering about stemming the losses and bankruptcy, as the company races against time to rev up its range, slash employees, and service crippling debts.
