Nord Stream waits for Swedish decision on environment

Sweden is still blocking approval of the vast Nord Stream pipeline, claiming more ecological tests are necessary before it can allow construction through its economic zone.

It is suprising to hear such language as "unprofessional" being used by Swedish official. The comments on the "lack of detail' also ring hollow. Sweden had the responsibility to work with Nord Stream project team to define the objectives and to offer best models for the environmental study. The shortcomings of the product are directly related to the lack of its input and participation. I expect that the official quoted does not represent the Swedish government attitude. The kind of behaviour exibited by this official sounds arrogant. Let's hope that Sweden, as the country responsible for the environment within its priviledged economic zone, contributes responsibly to this european project.
