Putin: Fighting inflation might slow down economic growth

The Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said fighting inflation is not justified if it slows down economic growth. He was discussing the development of the Russian economy with the country's leading political party

“Western economies are facing two destructive factors at the moment: an uncontrollable price increase for oil and gas, and rising food prices. Of course, this affects Russia as we are a part of the world economy. However, there are domestic factors too. But we think that fighting inflation is the wrong course of action if it slows down economic growth,” Putin said.
