Russian authorities launch new probe into TNK-BP

Financial Times reports Russian labour and tax authorities commence new probe into TNK-BP

Russian tax and labour inspectors have begun new probes into Russo-British oil giant TNK-BP, according to the Financial Times.

Tax inspectors requested documents on July the 7th about payments to BP specialists, working for the firm from 2006 to 2007.

The oil company was fined recently over minor infringements of employment law.

Meanwhile, CEO Robert Dudley and a group of other top foreign managers have been told they will be issued new work visas this Thursday.

However, the Russian shareholders are still trying replace Dudley with another candidate.

TNK-BP is currently in the middle of a long-running battle between its billionaire Russian shareholders and British oil giant BP, who jointly own the company.
