Russia's current Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov might be the next chairman of Gazprom's board of directors, according to Russia's RIA news agency, quoting a source from within the government.

Viktor Zubkov became Prime Minister last year after being nominated by president Putin.

Dmitry Medvedev, who's favourite to be Russia's next president, currently heads the board of the state giant.

And with Putin likely to take-over as Prime Minister, the three could all switch positions.
