Citibank’s annual Russian’s spend abroad study shows that Russians are spending more money outside the country this year than they were in 2009.
John, not sure if you are talking about the States or Russia. Please clarify. Thanks
Probably they are spending a lot in Ukraine, which is so cheap and now the border is open....That has led to an increasing trade and tourism which is revitalising the Donbas region and Crimea. At the same time, thousands of Ukrainians are travelling to neighboring Russian cities.
It would be interesting a RT report on how the economy and life in the Russian-Ukrainian border has improved during the last months as trade and tourism from both sizes has increased. I live in Spain, but next to the border with Portugal, and trade and tourism is essential for both sizes of the border. An RT report could ask citizens, shopkeepers, tourist agencies etc about the revitilising Trade in border towns and cities, and even in cities like Kharkov, Donetsk, Odessa, Rostov etc. Also it is an example for Georgia. Free Trade is much better than old age ultranationalism.

Consumers did not boost their spending in June and their incomes failed to increase, further evidence that the economic recovery slowed in the spring. And Americans saved at the highest rate in nearly a year. Personal spending was unchanged in June, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday. It was the third straight month of lackluster consumer demand. Incomes were also flat, the weakest showing in nine months. Our economy is a shambles because our politicians decided to give the rest of the world a living at our expense. Both parties voted for free trade agreements that gutted our manufacturing base and allowed China, India, and other countries to become prosperous while we suffer. Our leaders want to be friend to the whole world, while the rest of the world takes the money and could care less about us. " Everyone who smile to your face is not necessarily your friend".
