Russia's Gazprom snaps up Italy stake

Italy's energy company Enel SpA is ready to sell a minority stake in an Italian power station worth $US200 million to Gazprom.
The stake may be sold for cash or contributed to the Enel-Gazprom joint venture.
If the deal goes ahead it will give Gazprom up to 300 megawatts of the plant's generating capacity.
Another European energy company, German E.ON, has also proposed cooperation with Gazprom in building power plants in Germany, the UK and Hungary.
