A dream house built on permafrost – that is what Canadian technology is bringing to Siberian soil. Russia’s Kemerovo region is building experimental cheap town houses meant to resist freezing temperatures.

There are very few families who would agree to spend a cold Siberian winter in an experimental house built of panels stuffed with foam plastic and pressed chips.

If the houses prove comfortable enough, a whole town of such cottages is meant to be built in the region as part of the nation's priority “Accessible Housing” project.

The thermostatic cheap houses are aimed primarily at young families and a special offer is also provided for them – a 20 year interest-free loan.
