Stroytransgaz signs up for UAE pipeline construction project

Published: 24 July, 2008, 10:25

Russia's Stroytransgaz has signed a $400 million dollar contract for construction of a gas pipeline in the United Arab Emirates.

The engineering and construction company's deal with Dolphin Energy Ltd is for a 240 kilometre-long, 48-inch diameter pipeline to run through the entire country. It will connect the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman.

This is the first project of its scale on the territory of the UAE for a Russian construction company, and is being billed as creating favourable conditions for their future work in the country.
