VolgaTelecom posts 1H 2009 Net Profit of 1.85 billion Roubles

Volga region telecom provider, VolgaTelecom, has posted a 1H 2009 Net Profit of 1.85 billion Roubles.
The bottom line is up 7.1 % year on year, with EBITDA also increasing 12.1 % to 7.1 billion Roubles, on the back of Revenues rising 2.2 % year on year to 16.1 billion Roubles.
The company said higher year on year Revenues were mostly driven by the increase of its broadband client base, which due to its active marketing policy grew by 70% to 904 thousand from the last year’s level. This was coupled with the 2.2% increase in mobile services users and lower operational expenditures.
