Does internet contribute to eliminating borders between countries and cultures? What role does it play in your life?
Laureen 28 July, 2008, 01:45 The Internet is a wonderful communicator which will change the lives of our children and grandchildren into the future and hopefully better communication will lead to a better world. There is a great new site for those who want to find all kinds of jobs at sea. Check it out. SaltwaterJobs.com A great way to travel and be paid for it too!

K 9 August, 2008, 18:15 Wow, just read Dmitry Medvedev’s G8 interview I’ve got to say I’m pretty take a back it was probably some of the most forward thinking and economic rational pieces I’ve heard, well, since Putin I guess. I’m sure you have all read it but in there is talk of combating corruption with competition etc, from an economic standpoint really refreshing and dynamic of course everyone is judged in history I guess on actions not words but, I really find it amazing there is a real gulf of perceptions from these words and what is being portrayed by other media outlets. basically why are people so down on Russia in the west media? are they even reading these speeches? this is really forward thinking stuff here.

Michael 10 August, 2008, 00:49 I honestly am amazed at the internet and it's usefulness. I am 16 and the internet has allowed me to learn and become more cultured. I have steadied many things about europe, russia, history, religion and has allowed me to meet kids, adults from all around the world. It is interesting also how available data is and information. I had found a lost sister I had never got to meet from our real mother because of the internet and now we talk offen. I am also able to listen to new from other countries such as russia where the media is less corrupt and bias where american media hardly tells the truth and tries to hide things behind their own opinions. CNN news is currently saying russia invaded georgia when georgia was the one who started it. So I thank the internet for allowing people to come out of their shell and most likely find the truth if they really seek it.

Amanda 21 August, 2008, 15:09 The Internet has given us so much truth, for years we have been told lies, our media is biased, even the BBC is run by zionists. There are 6 main news agencies in the west, 96% of the presenters and media managers are zionists. I am disgusted to learn about the British Empire and the Rothschild/Windsor Empire. Russia - there are thousands of people here who back you, thank god you are a force to be reckoned with, we support you all the way.

Fred 23 August, 2008, 19:23 The internet plays a HUGE role in how I vie the world, & how my friends view it. In the old days, corrupt, incompetent journalists like Dan Rather could LIE to the American people, forge any proofs they wanted, & get away with it because they had few competitors. NOW Dajn Blather lost his job when he went after George Jr, with FORGED documents and a sensationalist lie about how he had not completed his military service. It helps HONEST politician WHEN they are honest, & EXPOSES them when they are not. Bill Clinton was not hurt cause most folks DIDNT CARE about Monica, & these days I DONT CARE about John Edwards love child. It does however make it impossible for govts to use propaganda machines like Himmer & Mussolini did, & even things like Watergate would be IMPOSSIBLE to suppress these days for more than a few hours. Its a good world out there on the net.

A 2 September, 2008, 00:05 Internet give us the chance to communicate and exchange our ideas but not certainly eliminate our borders betweencountries. It depende what we mean when we say borders and cultures between countries because as a human beeing I believe there`s no border in our way of thinking but it isessential that we keep our cultures which is our identities and our difference that we celebrated in China recently and which always atract one another. It should bring us closely and facilitate the understanding of our mutual interest. Surely as a human beeing, we share one common think which is the savegard of our humanity which is peace, prosperity and equality.

brenda 7 September, 2008, 06:20 i enjoy reading the news of other countries. it gives me a chance not only to read their side of things but also allows me to read the opinions of people from that county, whether or not if their opinion is opressed by their leaders. i do believe that is a condition that is affecting all countries nowadays.

Vladd77 14 September, 2008, 13:48 The Internet has shown me how small the planet actually is. I enjoy reading and learning about my fellow earthlings and, in spite of all the controversy going on in the world regarding differences in thinking and believing, I will always remain hopeful that respect, tolerance and compassion will win the day. To survive we need to work together in the protection of our fragile environment and in sharing our natural resources. For the time being this is the only planet we have so why destroy it in the name of greed and vengeance!

tony 10 October, 2008, 09:54 yes i think the internet helps to bring people and their cultures together that is as long the CIA or the NSA are not spying on us and creating their own brand of inborn terrorism, racial tensions are caused by these secret controllers, you can bring many people together aound the table and they can usually enjoy each others company as long as you leave out three things and they are politics, patriotism and religion because these are the only three things the western powers use to control and manipulate you.

Arklight 15 October, 2008, 19:06 I think that the internet gives us an opportunity to be in intellectual and social contact with people of other countries, but doesn't create an atmosphere of wanting to join your own country to their country; Americans, for instance, have internet exchanges on a regualar basis with Mexican and Canadian nationals, but repudiate the North American Union in the whole, and in part. I've e-penpals across the planet, but have no compelling desire to move to their countries, of combine this country with any of theirs. The exposure of the ills of a nation, as it affects its people, can alert other nationals to be on guard against evil acts of their own governments and promote national awareness and pride in country, which is both valid and valuable. It's not the people of various countries who wish to vacate their own heritage and culture, but the politicians who can and do sell their nations to the highest bidder, a curse upon crooked politicians.

Cliff 16 October, 2008, 23:22 It is a means of communicating with people you have been brought up to hate, and realising that perhaps they are not much different to you. Politicians and the media are responsible for spreading racial hatred around the world. The interenet can try and overcome some of that and make people realise that, generally, people are similar worldwide.

Subav 11 March, 2009, 22:10 The internet certainly expands horizons. I never thought I'd be having regular conversations with Danes, Swedes, Russians, Australians, etc. and completely free. Programs like ventrilo allow one to literally speak to people worldwide, without the rediculous costs associated with international phone calls. Likewise, news sources like RT (my favorite) and even ones like the Saudi News Agency are easy to access and provide one with many different points of view. In addition, things like Google and Wikipedia mean information is a click away. In the early days of the internet, let alone before the internet, one would need to sift through multiple libraries to find (often outdated) info. Now, if I want to learn more about aeronautical engineering or the Ukrainian Prime Minister or pretty much anything, I can have that in front of me in less than a minute. The extreme ease of access to information is often taken for granted but that's probably the most important thing the internet has brought to the world.

Alexander 20 December, 2009, 04:59 The internet not only crosses borders but it allows people from all over the word to communicate easily. I have always been fascinated with Russia. My country (USA) has been arount for 233 years, not very long at all when compared to Russia. I am so glad that the cold war is over. I believe we have a lot more in common than we have differences as people. I hope to make a Russian friend and communicate over the internet with them. I am starting to learn a little Russian Starting with the alphabet. If anybody there would like to make a friend in the US please e-mail me.
