Who is the greatest person in Russian history?
molaba jabulane 3 July, 2011, 20:09

I really enjoy watching your channel on many occasions because it still one of those international tv broadcasting houses that give unbiased & balanced reporting about impotant issues in the volatile world of today. Keep up the good work and avoid becoming another propaganda broadcasters.

Mohammad Qureshi 5 October, 2011, 05:13 No matter what you say my favorite Russian was Tzar Nicholas II, he was a good man and thrown over by people who did very questionable things afterwards, the bolsheviks who were Jews mainly and probably got tired of the pogroms. Not that the pogroms were good things but what they did to the Russians afterwards like murdering millions and bringing communism wasn't good either. Poor Tzar Nicholas II, a white sheep caught in a lion's world, the right man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Mikhail Kalashnikov was twice named Hero of Socialist Labour. In 1998, he was awarded an Order of Saint Andrew the Protoclete(orden Svyatogo Andreya Pervozvannogo).
On his 90th birthday on 10 November 2009, Kalashnikov was named a "Hero of the Russian Federation" and presented with a medal by President Dmitry Medvedev who lauded him for creating "the brand every Russian is proud of."[18]

[edit]Quotations"My work is my life, and my life is my work. I invented this assault rifle to defend my country. Today, I am proud that it has become for many synonymous with liberty.""It is the Germans who are responsible for the fact that I became a fabricator of arms. If not for them, I would have constructed agricultural machines. (...) If someone asks me how I can sleep at night knowing that my arms have killed millions of people, I respond that I have no problem sleeping, my conscience is clean. I constructed arms to defend my country.""Before attempting to create something new, it is vital to have a good appreciation of everything that already exists in this field.""I am still ready to shake hands with anyone who designs a better assault rifle than mine.""It is painful for me to see when criminal elements of all kinds fire from my weapon [...] I created this weapon primarily to safeguard our motherland"[19]"Anything that is complex is not useful and anything that is useful is simple. This has been my whole life's motto.""I would prefer to have invented a machine that people could use and that would help farmers with their work - for example a lawnmower.

Who is thegreatest person in Russian history?

How do you decide? What criteria do you use? How do you measure their impact?

Naturally, there's a tendency to name a leader, either a savior from a foreign aggressoror a great reformer.

Then comethe scientists, writers, artists and other cultural figures. All are valid choices.

Millenniumof Russiamonument features many of the above who had become notable before the middle of the 19th century.

Morerecently, I’d like to name Konstantin Tsiolkovskiy and Nikolas Roerich.

Serge 22 March, 2012, 09:43 Stalin despite all the lies about him was not only the greatest person in Russian history, but in the world history as well. That time period (first half of the 20th century) was the most dangerous in the human history;combining not only the revolutions in so many countries, but also the 2 world wars (with the first one "surprisingly" taking place 6 months after the establishment of the Federal reserve system in the US. Stalin stopped the New World Order twice.First by not allowing Trotsky to use Russia as "fuel in the fire of a permanent world revolution",and that btw is the main reason why Stalin is still hated and lied about in thousands of books published in the west.Second time was stopping Hitler and his New Order, and here are a couple of interesting facts that are known, but not understood:It's a common believe that USSR was not ready for the war,and Hitler fooled Stalin into thinking he wont attack. To prove many facts are given about the number of soviet planes, tanks, troops destroyed by the Germans in the first days of war (June-July 1941). But have you ever wondered how many ships were lost by the Russian side in the first days of war ? Zero is the right answer. Why ? Because there was an order given (June 21,1941) a day before the attack to be in full combat readiness, why did the navyfollow the order and the others didn't ? Now that is a good question, perhaps these famous "purges" were not as extensive ?I often read about 50-60 million killed by the "Stalin regime",and then look at the total number of (ALL) prisoners in USSR from 1933-1953, and "surprisingly" it's only around 3 million - not killed but the total number of prisoners, that were jailed for all crimes (theft, murder, etc) Luckily in Russia many people have already realized "who is who",and it is only a matter of time until people in the west learn the truth.Think about it this way:if the western media and the governments lie about so many (domestic) issues, why can anyone assume they will tell us the truth about Stalin,Putin,or Jesus ? The bottom line is:they will not and they did not.
