Who is the world’s best ice hockey player, ever?
Iceman 22 January, 2008, 08:41 Wayne Gretzky,Peter Forsberg,Jaromir Jagr,Markus Naslund ,Sid the Kid (Sidney Crosby),Vladislav Tretiak,Temmu Selanne, mario lemieux,Sergie Fedorov, mats sundin, eric staal and alexander ovechkin are all well known and were/are really the tops. However, as stated, in today's material world, its the BIG BUCKS that count and I guess Ovechkin is far ahead and therefore the most valuable. Tiger, Maria, Micheal Schumaker etc were in that 'esteemed' category!

Norman 22 January, 2008, 17:34 I believe that Alexander Ovechkin has a good future in hockey. I am fortunate to live only 3 Kms away from the Washington Capitals practice site, at the Ballston Common Shopping Mall in Arlington, Va. I hope to see him practice. Oh, I also like Wayne Gretsky.

George. D. 23 January, 2008, 15:15 I always liked the grinders in Hockey, the player that would go in the corner and battle his way out with the puck passing it out in front of the net for the goal scorer to score,. But having seen most of them play here in Montreal at the old forum, i would say Mario Lemieux was the best, size, strength and a touch with the puck that no one can match.

Norman 22 March, 2008, 19:56 Ovechkin ( Alexander the Great ) and Fedorov have done great with the Washington Capitals. I go over to the Iceplex to watch them practice. There are three great Russian exports: caviar, vodka and hockey players, PLUS BEAUTIFUL WOMEN.
