Am British and do not see myself as a stupid Pom:)
I for one see this independence as most illegal by international law. Also know very well that Kosovo is histolically Serbian.
I have to admit that the western media is very biased. Not once was it reported on who actually started the conflict or on the history of Kosovo. When discussing the issue here I had noticed how much people are in the dark here.Lets be honest, not many people pick up a book now a days and get all their information from the TV.
As for what the politicians are saying, well how else do you expect them to explain such an criminal act.Yes very illegal act if you care for international law.
For Teodor:
Personally, I think your tone is extremely strong which borders on to being arrogant. There are a lot of people here whose command of the English language is limited and by reading how they perceive this situation as with other situations is commendable. I will also say that their command of the English language is very good under the circumstances - please, give credit where credit is due together with that bit of respect for those who strive to do their level best, and from what I have read, expressing their views from the heart. I lost my country because of the blind fools of the West wanting to dominate the world in their own way, so can understand fully the feelings expressed by most here.
As a final thought here, USA and England have recognised Kosova for their own gains owing that this country will give the USA, in particular, the right to use their soil to aim missiles at Russia, with the total support of England
The most probable outcome in the near future seems a rise in separatist speculations or even certain moves - we have already some manifestations - see the Republic of Srpska, Spain - even Palestine - their representatives have already spoken of their will to want independense. And second - is drastic worsening of EU-Russian and US-Russian relations. THe UN has proved itself again of total helpnessness and uselessness.
For Serbia, for now, is good that Kosovo's, "independence". Serbian nation is older every year, on the another side, political situation is not good for Serbs to solve problem by force. But, Americans can not, becouse they do not want to, be frends with anyone. Serbia was on same side with them in two WW-s and still they did bombed Serbia in 1999. In same time, Albanians are very insincere poeple. In same time when they wave the American flag around, they are very frendly with al Qaeda terrorists. So, when ones America desides. Once America decided to leave its fate Albanians, Serbs will fixthe problem for a very short time. If it justice, it will be the last conflict of the Serbs and the hordes, because after that they will no longer be in the Balkans. Therefore, it is clear that the time is working for Serbia. With God's help, next year in Kosovo. Best greetings to our Russian brothers.
I disagree with SasaMoravski and I know its not a general sentiment of Serbian people. I am Serbian. We want Kosovo issue to be resolved and we do not wish to see another war. But we are brave nation and if we are cornered by constant Natos involvment and one sided point of view what can we do?. We want to resolve this peacefully while Western countries do not recognise any kind of law and we are in status quo. We tried every possible diplomatic resolution and reached out to International Law only to hear that Western countries have right to ignore it or disobey it. Even some Alabanian Kosovars had enough of this and are recognising stupidity of situation. But they are treatened with violence and do not dare to voice their opinion for fear of reprisals from extreemist. Its a horrible situation.
