This is pretty much a show trial. He has already been aquited by an Israeli court hn it was discovered in Soviet archive he was framed by the KGB. But due to Jewish pressure and a "new witness" he will most likely be convicted.

The fact that those who are indicted of Nazi crimes against humanity continue to be hunted and brought to trial in Germany and elsewhere without any limitations of time is good news indeed. It helps protect future generations of Germans from similar abuse by possible future rogue governments. Unfortunately, future generations of Russians and their neighbors have no such protection. In Russia the precedent has been firmly set that people can kill, enslave and terrorize fellow-citizens and those of neighboring countries literally by the tens of millions in the name of the state, and absolutely no one but no one will ever have to answer for their crimes in a court of law. Their impunity seems to be absolute. Strangely enough, Russians who themselves both have and potentially will again bear the greatest consequences of this seem to have no interest to require an accounting from those who abused them. This is a frightening failure of vision and civic responsibility from all concerned.
