Invaders have always, throughout history, despised the people they conquered and have treated them brutally.  Can't really expect the American conquerors of Afghanistan to be any different.

I too am from Canada and read with disgust the actions of the US in other countries.  I am a huge Ron Paul supporter and it matters not that he won't be / become president, he's opened my eyes to what is yet to arrive in yes, even Canada. (we have concentration camps here also.)
Last summer, I had a young Canadian (23) man live at my house that had 7 years of military and 6 months in Afghanistan.  The stories were horrible.  His friends now gone have left him with ptsd for the remainder of his years.  Four of his other friends have returned and have either o/d'd or committed suicide.  He was made aware of the Opium business in error and was banned from the area.  Also, told to 'shoot' anything that moved.  These kids went over with patriotic feelings, loyalty and orders and have returned broken, unable to function in today's society and unable to 'forget' what they saw.

As you know, our society 'today' doesn't train you to hurt your neighbor or spank your children... these kids don't know what / lived true hate /anger...they are taught only briefly then sent in.
I don't know where he is today.  He fell off the gps for me.  I worry about him and he feels alone in Canada.  A heart of gold and trying to stay positive.. I don't blame 'him' for his actions but I do hold the USA / Can Military, Harper and Obama completely responsible for this.

America rarely sanctions its troops. There are numerous examples of criminal behaviour and bad conduct on the part of American soldiers. The US will not permit it's forces to be subject to the laws of the land they inhabit, which is another case of American exceptionalism.  The answer is not to have any Americans on your soil.

If these soldiers are playing god, where is the 'real God' then? Aren't the insurgents playing god as well? It would be interesting if there was one shred of evidence to back up the existence of the deities in question. Americans praying to YHWH for success in battle against the soldiers of Allah... Muslims calling on Allah to help them kill the infidel Yawhists... and it all amounts to very mundane, physical action between them. @NOTtroopdude. You must be getting wars mixed up. The only killing I see are the photos of dead babies in Syria by the Syrian puppet govt backed with Russian tanks. What I recall about Russia and Afghanistan was Russia got their but kicked by some nomads with rifles. Funny thing is Russians are like, "No foreign intervention" yet they have a russian port, russian tanks and are backing a dictatorship which is run my the minority of the people. What does that sound like to you? This is why they don't want to have elections in Syria, they will lose. Russia is no world leader so, go back to eating your potato and prepare yourself for your next failed govt. People make mistakes. This Koran burning was an accident. The officer in charge told them to burn anything that was being used to pass messages between cells. Some inmates were using the Koran. I am wondering if that would be  sacrilegious to use a holy book in a time of conflict instead of peace. There are many Muslims in Europe and the U.S. and they are welcome.
