Parbes - yes sir I totally agree our government is unbelievably hypocritical (aren't they all?) and yes double standards exist within our Government is frankly a bunch of lying multi-millionaires with only their own interests at heart (aren't they all?) The utter BS that comes out of Cameron's mouth on a daily basis is utterly shocking (it is frankly laughable!) but the UK has always been like that we love to get on our high horses and preach to the world. This story WAS reported in the UK press by the way Channel 4 News ran the story on the day this article was published, along with the main BBC news, numerous national newspapers also reported it along with local BBC news and radio. An no my primary language is English (HENCE MY NAME 'AN ENGLISH PERSON WRITES'!) - what an odd question to ask why would I speak Hebrew?

"An English Person":  You still haven't answered, or even addressed, my main point: UK government hypocrisy and double standards?

Many thanks for pointing out my grammatical error - how embarrassing!! I like get a decent overview of certain events by reading how different countries report the same story it gives you a better grasp of what is really going on. I was not commenting on Syria nor Libya I was stating that this young man went to a peaceful protest with the specific aim of fighting with police and causing as much trouble as possible. I'm certainly not saying he deserved a good hiding - not at all. I'm just saying if you want to go out and fight with police and act in the way that this young man did that night be prepared to face the consequences of your actions ie in court.

@Daniel Calm yourself, you're not making any sense. Are you saying that all English students are greedy money-grubbing freaks, because if that is the case you are conveniently ignorant of the facts. English students shouldn't have to pay through the nose for a decent education, all the fee hikes do is remove any possibility of the intelligent poorer parts of society from receiving the same opportunity as the rich and mid-to-upper classes. There is nothing wrong in defending the right to affordable education for all. Clearly, you have no need to further you're own education as you are a paragon of intellectuality.

In regards to "police watchdog", I have dealt with these people myself in a similar case of police brutality against my own person, and I would rather call them the "police guard dog" because that is what they really are.

I'm not really sure you can comment on this story unless you were there! Now I know that often our police handle these situations badly but lets be honest here this chap was not peacefully protesting like the vast majority that were there that day, he was there to cause as much trouble as possible. He was seen repeatedly pushing and charging at police lines time and time again, he deliberately went there to cause trouble and be violent - if he was just there minding his own business and he got a smack from the police then yes I agree the police should be in the dock not him, but sadly that wasn't the case. I would also like to add that what happened with the poor chap in the wheelchair was utterly disgraceful - that situation should never have happened and the police acted completely innapropriately) I also think its really quite amusing that some people are making comments about the 'repressive and violent British government' on a Russian (state controlled?) news website! Ironic or what?!
This is  interesting that all prosterters in Syria and Libya are peacefull protestors, even if he carry AK-47, and in UK he was guilty without trial because he was 'pushing' police. So what for you establish legal system and courts if police can beat cizizen to death without any trial or court... This is hypocrisy what you wrote.

@ "A(n) English Person" (who doesn't know how to spell his own language LOL): The issue here is not whether this particular guy was behaving "nicely" in his confrontation with the British police or not. The real issue here is that the UK government routinely criticizes and demonizes governments around the world (but ONLY CERTAIN, CAREFULLY SELECTED governments) for responding forcefully not just to demonstrators far more violent than this guy, but actual armed rebels and terrorists! It is that self-righteous hypocrisy, which is really disgusting! And by the way, if a "state-funded Russian website" is really so bad that nothing worthwhile can be found on it, then WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?  &nb sp;
