The Russians are Not opposed to the anti-missile defense system.  THEY ASKED TO BE A PART OF IT.  It seems extremely rude on the part of the U.S. to include the ~30 nations of Europe, and yet specifically exclude 1 of those nations.  To shield all of the EU, but exclude that 1 nation, is basically a slap in the face.  It demonstrates the U.S. desire to reignite the cold war..... foolishness.  But then I guess I shouldn't be surprised when idiots like Senator McCain are tweeting, "Watch out Vladamir.  The Arab spring is coming to your country soon.  Your government is doomed."   &n bsp;

The U.S. has no interest in keeping NATO around.  This missile defense issue should not even exist because we should not have placed any in Europe at all.  We should have no troops or bases in Europe.

What was the reason behind the formation of the EU? Economics one? The majority countries of the EU, were sunk in the debts beyond recovery already. The union of different cultures, different level of industrial development and radically different social structure, will be never works in the long run. Reply to another poster:   Yes Hitler was elected.  His party was 2nd in number of representatives.&nbs p; BUT then that party took-over and passed laws to kill-off democracy and elections.  So America and the other democracies did not attack a democratic Germany; they went to war against a dictatorship (or oligarchy if you prefer).   An d yes I am American and yes I received a poor government education, but I am not dumb.  I have spent many years researching online to learn what I was never taught.
