My heart sinks!  I spent many years working as asocial worker and the sad truth is the "the EU" and the rest of the Developed World could take boat load after boat load of asylum seekers and never begin to make any impression on our growing world population at all.All that does (and will) happen is that eventually the patience of native born impoverished and unemployed people finally snaps and dreadful things happen.Of course the nicely brought up well meaning politicians and journalists and religious leaders know very well what will happen but they lack the courage and encouragement to face reality.It`s so much easier to pretend that any criticism is racism/xenophobia and turn a blind eye to the overflowing slums through which you take special care never to venture.
