Annan to UN: Violence in Syria unacceptable, expedite observer deployment
April 25, 2012 01:39
Kofi Annan has said the situation in Syria is "bleak," expressing concern at reports the government was still conducting military operations. But experts say the West’s biased approach is to blame for that.

The game is to sabotage the first episode of the UN observers as is the case now, and secure the road to ask for more UN people on the ground w/technical (means Strategic) support to monitor and direct the terrorist attacks against the Government with means on Helicopters and all the sophisticated items attached to keep on trying a regime change. Just think about the difference of the Palestinian struggle attacking the mighty IDF with................ .................... .................... .................... .................... stones! Now just to mention that in the middle East, everybody knows about what they call : "the Five Column", Elements working for foreign entities to implement situations to provide their masters for the excuses to intervene directly with the crises. And Lebanon is like a old remake of the hollywood soap operas going on for more than a century, people knows, Mr Obama about the dirty tricks to create a civil war used by you administration since WWI.
@ SMJ: You are certainly right about the brutality of the regime in Syria. The fact though is that the Kremlin doesn't and had never cared about democracy and human rights but has only cared about "stability" and "peace" and good old bussiness, even under authoritarian governments. President Putin has said that overtly on several occassions, stating that democracy equals chaos and is not suited for Russia. Brainwashing the population about the "evil West" is part of achieving that goal.
kofi annan like that ban ke is an stooge of the anglosaxon evil empire
of england and usa-he will say some vague reprmands to syria jsut like
international atomic agency says vague things about iran(like we can not
be sure that nuclear fuel is not diverted for other purpose!). all to
make sure that vultures in form of nato is ready to punce on the meat
-whichis syria and then irana nd ultimately russia and china-the last
two nations desreving to eb ensalved if they have n ot realised that
they are next on the block
Russian selling arms to Syrians, Us selling to terrorists, Nato selling to terrorists. ANN-NOOOON don't have to be serious about the cease fire. Obviously this is a lucrative business and he is getting commission of some sort for delaying things. Russians are absolutely fake on their support for Syria this is based on business not humanitarian.
And so the propaganda roadshow goes on! I agree! Stop arming the opposition, which would stop the violence. The Western Terrorists will not stop their agenda until they have finally given Israel the wealth of land, resources and power, to which they had promised the Zionist in 1929. It won't stop until Zionism is crushed and eradictaed.
When will you understand that Koffi Annan is a US puppet. All these planetary institutions must be moved out of western influence (This include Switzerland which is a typical capitalist state) and be set-up in real neutral place. American capitalist strategists have always used the same way to dominate others. They use prostitute collabos, corrupt politicians and blackmails. Seeing what happened during the recent Russian elections should have opened your eyes. Instead, your leaders let American use your airfields to propagate killing in other countries. Actually Russia is Capitalism's most attractive potential victim. She has many citizen ready to sell their soul and make their country an other inhuman materialist state. I wonder if Mister Putin will be able and willing to initiate something else... Sorry, Future Generations, it does not look good for you. Best Regards... Jean-Claude Meslin
''But experts say the West’s biased approach is to blame for that''
Who are these 'experts'? Can we have their names and credentials please? If they're anything like the 'experts' they have on the channel they are nothing of the sort, they often tend to be people based thousands of miles away reporting on the situation from what appears to be their bedrooms. I haven't seen any actual reports from the ground. Plus if you read any articles on Syria or watch reports on this station you would see RT too is massively biased in favour of Assad and the Government - you are all as bad as each other. I don't trust any of you - they all have hidden agendas
A article in the Asia Times sums up the situation in Syria very well. It draws parallels between today and the arming of the Mujahideen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 80s. Rather than replicating the indiscriminate bombing campaign that brought about regime change in Libya, the United States has decided to tear the country apart through its support of an armed insurgency. No veto from Russia and China at the UN can prevent this from happening.
We see today an announcement that Jordan will train Libyan "police forces" to strengthen relations between the two countries. I wonder if this has anything to do with Russia's assertion at the UN recently that Libyan rebels were being trained to fight in Syria. It certainly makes the perfect cover for the arrival of thousands of Libyans (who are practically facially indistinguishable from "Syrian civilians" to the untrained, Western media eye) along Syria's border...
I'v e seen evidence in a number of interviews with Netanyahu that Israel is paranoid of the size of its neighbours. The engineered uprising in Syria may ultimately break up the country into smaller nations - drawn along sectarian lines. From Israel's perspective, these smaller nations become weaker and more manageable - strengthening their own position in the region.
Deplo ying helicopter gunships and selling gold reserves is a sign of desperation from the Syrian Government. It was something I feared would happen, and it has. Whilst its army grows weary combating the insurgency, the insurgents multiply - targeting high ranking Syrian officers to disorganise its enemy (pinpointed by real-time American surveillance). It is a battle that the Russians are not prepared to enter, and one that looks increasingly like Assad will eventually lose.
As US state department spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, said on Syria: "We will get our way, we always do"
