Quest for truth in Arab media wars

March 23, 2012 12:04

War is good for ratings, but some Arab networks are being accused of affecting, rather than reflecting, the conflicts. Despite the regional media market being one of the most saturated in the world, there is still much space for unbiased coverage.

Who owns and funds Russia Today? Are there any links with the Russian Government?

I strongly agree that Aljazeera has been fueling the conflict in syria by faking false images which is criminal. They are not the only channel doing that. There are also other western channels such as France24, BBC, CNN and a few others.

If Asia TV’s director general Entifad h Qanbar (who is the official advisor of Ahmad Chalabi for the last 20 years, the guy who fabricated the most of WMD stories for the George Bush government) is going to bring the truth to the Arab media world, then god help us all.

Cool, another sectarian channel. Should n't the ayatollahs spend their money in domestic issues now that the Iranian economy is in kind of free fall?
Asia TV’s director general Entifad h Qanbar is actually Ahmad Chalabi's right hand. Remember Ahmad Chalabi? Let me remind you again! He was the president of Iraqi National Congress (INC) in exile and he is the one responsible for creating the most of Iraqi WMD stories that were used by Bush Government to justify the Iraq invasion. In 2003 after the fall of Iraq, the Americans put him in power and together with Paul Bremer they performed their sectarian de-baathification&nb sp;process which resulted in firing and sometimes prose cuting the most Sunni  ;public sector employees. This was one of the important factors in causing the sectarian war that followed couple of years later. Right now Ahmad Chalabi&n bsp;is the head of the electoral committee and he is the one responsible for banning 500 Sunni candidates from the last election.
While Chalabi is the president of INC, Entifadh Qanbar is the Deputy Leader. Further, Entifa dh Qanbar is the official advices of Ahmad Chalabi for the last 20 years according to his linkedin profile.
From Wikipedia:
On 26 January 2012 the New York Times reported Western intelligence officials expressing concern that Chalabi was working with the leading opposition group in Bahrain, Al Wefaq National Islamic Society. A French intelligence official said, “When we hear that some members of the opposition are in touch with Hezbollah or with shady figures like the Iraqi Ahmed Chalabi, of whom we think he is acting on behalf of Iran, then this worries us”. The connection between Chalabi and Al Wefaq was acknowledged by Jawad Fairooz, secretary general of Wefaq and a former member of Parliament in Bahrain. Fairooz said, “Mr Chalabi has helped us with contacts in Washington like other people have done and we thank them”.

There are no arab media wars in middle east dictatorships 23.03.2012 13:48

There are only different media teams working together in staged disputes in order to give the impresion of a free speech society. We have the same problem in the west from the same people who install the puppets in the middle middle east. In fact your watching a controlled opposition channel as you read this blisfully unaware how sophisticated propagandists operate.
